Speaking

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to arrange an interview, talk, or have me participate on a panel.

I am most comfortable in English but can also do Q&A sessions en français (y entiendo el espanol bastante bien). I enjoy interacting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Here are some sample talks I’ve given recently that I’d love to tailor for your school or organization:

Recent Appearances:

  • Friday, May 4th at Writefest in Houston, Texas. “The Revolution Will Be Written: Writing as Activism.” Also moderated two other panels that day.
  • Friday, April 20th in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Sharing Power: Reconciling Indigenous-Settler Narratives” – a panel at the conference of the National Council on Public History (co-panelists include: Jean-Pierre Morin, Miranda Jimmy, Krista McCracken, Brittani Orona, Morgen Young, James Grant, Patrick Moore, Aaron Roth, and Manuelito Wheeler)

Radio Interviews

Speaking and Teaching Experience

  • Regularly give talks, facilitate workshops, moderate panels, and emcee events for libraries, festivals, and organizations such as Canada’s History

Tex Thompson, Author: “Thank you SO MUCH for running such a fantastic panel at Writefest. I am just bowled over at the thoughtfulness and exceptional preparation you put into making sure everybody there had a good time. ANY conference would be lucky to have you as a presenter!”

Glenn Smith, student: “In Danielle’s class you get more than theory; you get an inside look at the freelance business from an accomplished writer with real-world experience. Her generous and encouraging teaching style makes you feel that if you take the lessons learned and put in the effort, you, too, can get published.”
