Great SS Atlantic Reads for All Ages!

My research for Children of the SS Atlantic brought me to these fantastic books for all ages. My nonfiction title is the first for readers roughly ages 7-10, but there are others that are great for teens and adults. Check out:

  • For adults: Atlantic’s Last Stop by Bob Chaulk, who is the historian for the SS Atlantic Heritage Centre, and has been studying the topic for decades
  • For adults: this is out of print now, but SS Atlantic by Greg Cochkanoff and Bob Chaulk is almost like a museum in a book, with so many great photos in it
  • For teens: Call Me Bill is a stunning graphic novel by local author and artist Lynette Richards that is rooted in a mysterious sailor’s voyage
  • For upper middle grade or younger teens who prefer fictionalized accounts: The Gravesavers (also appears to be out of print) is a novel that takes place in the present day with connections to the past. It’s written by prolific and award-winning Nova Scotia author Sheree Fitch.

I also wrote a picture book for 5-8 year olds called The Boy, The Bird, and the Broken Ship that is out on submission with publishers. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me!
