Kickstarter is launched for kid’s book!

For the next two weeks, I’m inviting backers to support my first Kickstarter campaign for my debut chapter book aimed at 7 to 9-year-old readers!

To learn more about Fever on the Forgotten Coast, please visit my Kickstarter project page where you’ll find a video, information, and all the fun rewards levels I cooked up. I would love it if you can share the page with your friends and family to help connect the right readers with it – and make sure it’s available to them!

I’ve been a traditionally-published author for 14 years but was always curious about indie publishing, crowdfunding, and all that jazz. So I tapped into the knowledge I gained from working on six books, put on my project manager hat, and brought together a team of creatives here in Nova Scotia.

Meet the team!

There’s Brianna Barron, my illustrator/artist, whom I met through friends in the area. She graduated from high school last year and is already an incredibly talented and hardworking creator. I commissioned her to create a piece of Wings of Fire fan art for my son’s birthday and knew I needed to work with her professionally. Brianna created the custom cover artwork as well as some interior spots and a map!

There’s also Helen Dalton, who was born and educated in the UK and has a degree from Salford University in Graphic Design. She’s received several design awards through Newspapers Atlantic, owns and operates Remember When Custom Books, and co-owns Blue Hog Gallery in Lunenburg, NS where she lives. Helen has been working with me on all things font, typesetting, layout and more, as we prepare hard copy and e-book versions for readers across the world.
