Photographic Memory: Using Pictures to Inspire your Writing

Teaching Artist: Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail (Edmonton’s Historian Laureate)

Pictures can be great inspiration for setting, character, and plot details for all writing genres from poetry to fiction to memoir. Using 5-10 photos from your collection (or any intriguing ones you find in magazines or online), you’ll get your creative juices flowing in this dynamic workshop. No writing experience necessary, just a willingness to brainstorm, freewrite, and do some digging into photo albums!
