Polar Winds lands in Jasper!

Thanks so much to the lovely people in Jasper for bringing me in to do a writing workshop as part of Culture Days – and for hosting my first Polar Winds book launch! The weather was gorgeous, the space and coffee at the SnowDome Coffee Bar were great, and I enjoyed myself a lot. HopefullyContinue reading “Polar Winds lands in Jasper!”

YEG field dedicated to pioneering pilot

This past Sunday I was invited to be on hand for the dedication of Frank Victor Burton Field in Bulyea Heights (Edmonton, Alberta). It was a touching tribute to a local pilot and fun afternoon of model airplane contests, bouncy castle, and food – all organized by the dedicated volunteers of the Brookview Community Association.Continue reading “YEG field dedicated to pioneering pilot”

Thanks to the staff at the Loyal Edmonton Regiment Museum and CanadianContinue reading “YEG’s Victoria Cross Winners article in Edmonton Journal”

Fort Edmonton Park Talks Decolonization

I was invited to give two short sessions on the politics of voice and decolonization last week to the folks at Fort Edmonton Park. Considering they ran from 8:30-9:30am (which is really early to talk about such heavy topics), the participants were incredibly enthusiastic and engaged. I really enjoyed our discussions and I know weContinue reading “Fort Edmonton Park Talks Decolonization”
